Greetings to all and Happy New Year!
It’s time to take a look back on 2009 and review another record-breaking year. This is Vest ’N P.D.P.’s seventh year helping to protect our police dogs throughout the United States. My goal was to vest 200 dogs in 2009, and I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Vest ‘N P.D.P provided 203 police dogs with vests in 31 states. (To see the states that have received vests, go to our Donate page).
As I have stated many times, I cannot carry on this project without you, the people who make it possible for police dogs to get the protective vest they need and deserve.
Vest ‘N P.D.P. was started in July 2002. Since then, we have steadily increased the number of vests provided. Following, you can see the dramatic increases year by year.
2003 -- 6

2005 -- 11
2006 -- 24
2007 -- 80
2008 -- 130
2009 -- 203
To protect the privacy of my wonderful donors, I won’t list their names here. But I write a personal thank-you letter to each and every donor who helps us to succeed in protecting our wonderful police dogs. To those of you who donated $5 and wished you could have given more, let me say that I have received over 100 such donations, totaling over $500! I graciously accept and appreciate each and every dollar, because they add up fast. Never feel that whatever you give is not enough.
To all those who wrote notes along with your donations, I appreciate hearing your kind words and stories about your beloved four-legged friends. I feel very blessed to have your support, especially in these difficult economic times with a so many people out of work. The need to protect the police dogs who protect our communities is great and ongoing, and I am truly grateful for your continued support.
Please watch for regular updates to my website, and tell your friends and colleagues to visit the site. It’s so important to get the word out about the many police dogs who are not fitted with protective vests when they hit the streets, as most departments do not have the funding and budgets for vests.
Please feel free to contact me with questions or comments.
Sincerely,

Susie Jean
